On-page SEO is everything you change on the page itself to help Google and visitors understand it. It is the fastest SEO lever you fully control. Use this checklist for every important page.
1. Title tag
The clickable headline in Google results. Put the main keyword near the start and keep it around 50–60 characters (Google shortens long titles by pixel width).
✗ Home | ABC
✓ Root Canal Treatment in Indore | Smile Dental Clinic
2. Meta description
The text under the title. It does not directly change rankings, but a clear benefit and call to action can win more clicks. Aim for roughly 140–160 characters.
✓ Painless root canal treatment in Indore by experienced specialists. Same-day appointments and clear pricing. Book your visit today.
3. One H1 heading
The main visible heading. Use one H1 per page and include the main keyword naturally.
4. H2 headings
Break the page into sections people expect: what it is, process, cost, benefits, why choose you, FAQs. Writing some H2s as questions (“How much does a root canal cost?”) also helps answer engines.
5. Image alt text
Describe what is in the image for people who cannot see it. Do not stuff keywords.
✓ Dentist explaining a root canal X-ray to a patient
6. Internal links
Link related pages together with descriptive anchor text, for example from a blog post about tooth pain to the root canal service page using the words “painless root canal treatment”.
